The Thomas family are living and working in Fortaleza in Brazil with YWAM (Youth With a Mission).

They are involved in various strands of ministry including
• Working with street children
• Working with pregnant teenagers
• Community development including running kids clubs, language classes, supporting families and promoting small business
• Evangelism and discipleship in youth prisons
• Christian ministry training including discipleship training schools

Here are a few facts about Brazil (Taken from Operation World 21st Century edition):
Population approximately 190 million (UK is approx 59 million)
Fortaleza has about 3 million people
91% of the population are ‘christian’ of which 73% are roman catholic. 5% follow traditional animism or spiritism, and Brazil is the largest spiritist country in the world.
The average income per head is about 1/5th that of the average UK inhabitant (about US$ 4.400 per year). However, about 20 million people live in favelas, or slums- that’s about a third of the UK population!
Approximately 10 million children make a living from the streets and hundreds of thousands of these children are homeless, and subject to drug misuse and other abuses.

Planning your Visit

Sunday Services

 

The church meets every Sunday at 10.30am for our Sunday Service. It helps to get there 15 minutes early to get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.

We ask that everyone attending our services wears a face mask when moving around the church. Once you are seated you are free to remove it. Thank you.


We meet at the church building.

There is parking available on the site.

You can expect a warm welcome, great worship, an impacting preach and a friendly bunch of people gathering to learn more about God. 

 

Tea, Coffee & Biscuits!


After the main meeting finishes there will an be opportunity for prayer if needed. There is tea, coffee and biscuits served in the church hall.
